For sale: an uncommon and highly distinctive BIAS BS-2 vintage analogue drum synth serviced and in full working order.

This monstrous little Japanese drum synth is truly massive. Small box, big sound. Lots of knobs. Immense sound. Very chrome. Not to be confused with inferior (but similar sized) offerings from Coron JHS etc. Did we say it sounds huuuge?

With its gleaming chrome finish and more knobs and switches than seems reasonable for such a compact box, the BS-2 offers a surprising level of control and sonic versatility. This is a powerful and expressive analogue percussion synthesizer, capable of creating everything from earth-shaking sub bass to ear-shredding highs - and everything in between. You have been warned.

A firm favourite here at Soundgas, the BS-2 can be triggered via an external source (or footswitch), or simply struck directly - though with care, as it’s not the most robust of builds. What it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in sonic aggression and character.

The BS-2 is a different circuit to the better-known BIAS B-1, with additional features including:

Please exercise caution - this little box is capable of extreme frequency ranges. Deep low end and intense highs are well within its reach. They don’t make them like this any more -and it seems they didn’t make many in the first place. These almost never come up for sale.
