WEM PICK A BACK

WEM PICK A BACK

For sale we have a WEM Pick A Back: an ultra-rare British valve amp piggyback combo dating from c1963 in very good condition and perfect working order (see photos below - internal shots to follow).

It's just been serviced and it's sounding superb. You get a lot of amp and tone for your money - the break up's great - if it had a Marshall badge on, it'd be worth 2-3 times as much. Missing the screws to connect the head to the speaker cab.

From the vintagehofner site:

The Pick-A-Back and Pick-A-Bass were Wem's first "piggy-back" units, introduced circa 1963 during the transitional Watkins to Wem period. The 14W valve head seems to have been an early version of the ER15, although it is not marked as such. 2-inputs, 2-channels, each with volume, bass and treble controls. The head was common to both models : the cabs bore the model name, and the Pick-A-Back had 2 x 10" speakers as opposed to the single 12" unit in the Pick-A-Bass.

We recommend personal collection or delivery by independent courier - please get in touch for rates.

This is a UK 240v mains-powered model and will require a step-up transformer for operation in countries with 110-117v mains supplies. The UK plug will be removed prior to shipping to countries with 240v mains supplies, unless otherwise requested.
