Our early preamp mod captures the character and feel of the most desirable original RE-201s; rare to find in top shape these days due to common motor issues. Expect a warmer, fuller sound with smoother, more musical repeats and greater presence - less grit than your standard 201. A studio favourite for everything from guitar and synths to vocals, drums and beyond.

Fully serviced by the Soundgas team with new and restored parts where needed. The tape transport’s had a full overhaul, heads cleaned and aligned, and the whole unit calibrated for peak performance. Classic spring reverb, multi-head delay, and rich preamp saturation - all restored to sound as good as (if not better than) when it left the factory.
