MAY FAIR 9540 (Shin-ei Super Fuzz FY-6)

MAY FAIR 9540 (Shin-ei Super Fuzz FY-6)

Near mint example of a re-badged 60s Shin-ei Super Fuzz FY-6.

For sale serviced, in excellent working order and sounding stunning.

Condition is really near mint - it's clearly never been stomped on in anger; it has just a few small chips to the finish on the corners and edges. Comes in it's original polystyrene box.

This is the circuit that launched a thousand fuzzes - possibly most famously from Univox, but it was re-badged or licensed many times, not to mention supplying plenty of inspiration for the Roland BeeBaa and Fender Blender, and not to mention the near identical Ibanez Standard Fuzz.

The name is really irrelevant - Master Control, Duo Fuzz or Super Fuzz - the sound is what counts: it's basically two very different shades of monstrous filth - ripping chainsaw fuzz or brutal octave-ish wildness.

Integral to the tone of a list as long as your arm of guitar icons (check the Wikipedia Univox Super Fuzz page) - if you don't yet have one of these in your fuzz arsenal then this is a great example.

For sales in UK/EU the price will include VAT. VAT-free sales are possible to businesses and individuals in the EU (outside the UK) with a valid VAT Number - please get in touch if you wish to buy this way.
