Grampian Type 636 Reverberation Unit - SN 1145

Grampian Type 636 Reverberation Unit - SN 1145

This is a serious timewarp piece and a rare opportunity. A one owner from new original 1960s Grampian Type 636 Spring Reverb that is as close to new condition as you could hope to find.

The current owner is an experienced technician who worked for the Rank Organisation in the 60s. They were agents for Grampian (who were based close by). This was the official demonstrator unit supplied to Rank, but apparently they barely sold any so it was given to the owner to pair with his transistor organ. Shortly after, he installed a spring inside the organ and this has remained unused since.

He carefully brought it back to life and tested it and was astonished to find the pots were not even crackly. He found and treated some rust spots on the internal metal chassis. We'd certainly recommend that this is given an overhaul (and a mains power supply fitted) but it is working remarkably well for an untouched original.

It is in incredible condition - I doubt there's another like it anywhere in the world. We can service and modify it at the buyer's request at additional cost.
